Welcome to my archive! I spent as much time as I can find on the trails and beaches of our wilderness areas. This archive is a compendium of some of my images that try to capture what is seen and experienced, from my encounters with the smallest buttterflies and warblers to the crashing surf and the rising sun.
I'm a retired federal civil servant having specialized in airport development and management. I live with my wife Laura and our two Maine Coon Cats in Portuguese Cove, Nova Scotia.
Photography is both a passion and a companion for me as it exercises my mind and my body. I love our feathered friends and can never get enough of them. Wandering the barrens and forests of this land looking for birds has introduced me to butterflies and wildflowers, orchids and the awesome scenery. I always carry my camera when I'm out and about.
The photos in this archive date back to my first days in digital photography when I started with a 6.3MP camera and a 70-300mm zoom lens. The results were not impressive. Over the years my skill and equipment improved with improved results, but all the photos are here. It's my historical record. I currently shoot at 25MP from 16mm to 1200mm.
I can provide a contact sheet representative of the type and number of photos reflecting your interest.
